Dear Orienteering Community,
With a very heavy heart, we have decided that our inaugural World Ranking Event (WRE) scheduled for 12-14 June 2020 is to be cancelled.
All further community engagements in the year of 2020 will also be removed and subjected to review.
This decision has been a tough one to bear as the idea of a WRE is to allow Singaporeans to experience a bigger competition stage and thus bringing more people who want to try orienteering. Yet above all, the well being of all athletes are our utmost responsibility on top of all these federation’s pursuit.
As a community, we hope that you will ride past this wave with us and we will emerge stronger. We are looking forward in having you guys back to conquer your own podium on the courses we are about to set and also to hear those shouts of euphoria when you clock in on the “Finish” control. We would also empower all of you reading this to follow, like, share about us on Facebook / Instagram (@OrienteeringSG) because information spreads faster with more audience. (No puns intended)
Our prayers also goes out to everyone in the sports and outdoor family — May all things be smooth and let’s stay strong together!
